WA Goes Big returns in 2024 for its eleventh year and this time we are heading off to Augusta!

Event Schedule

We'll have a weekend packed with activities for WAGB 2024!

Here is what we know for now, this may help you plan accommodation or travel plans. 

Friday Night

Sundowner to open up the WAGB weekend, once you have set up camp or just rolling into town stop by for a social gathering and start planning your weekend with mates.

The Sundowner will be located at Turner Caravan Park.

Saturday Day

We will have the Hall open in the morning for registrations and a few activities.

  • Group activity for this day will be for those that can organise their own Kayak a trip over the estuary to find GC74H79 "South Coast Hut", Note this may need to be a BYO option. 

  • A CITO planned for mid-afternoon within the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.

 

Saturday Night 

Dinner will be provided at Centennial Hall.

The menu will be hamburgers or sausages with salad and bread

Members (1 membership = 1 person) this dinner will be free as part of your membership

Non-members the cost will be $2 donation.

Following Dinner, we will have an award and quiz night.

Sunday, Group activity day

  • We are planning a 4x4 trip out towards Lake Jasper so start networking if you don't have a 4WD and you wish to knock of an old 2003 cache GCCD7E "cattleman's camp" and GCDE46 "Sandman".

  • We will be facilitating a group activity to navigate the Blackwood River to find the recently released caches. Spots are limited (12) with a cost of between $20 - $40 per person. If you are interested, please email us your expression of interest and number of people wishing to come. Individuals will be informed if they have secured a spot the week prior to WAGB.

Monday 

Goodbye breakfast to be held in Augusta and the close of WAGB weekend activities.

Are you celebrating a Milestone at WAGB 24 let us know about it so that we can acknowledge your achievement at our award dinner.

Rules:

  • You must log your milestone cache find as the WA Goes BIG event listing on Saturday 21st September

  • At WAGB on registration day sign our milestone registration book to inform us of you

       milestone

  • Milestones to be recognised - 50, 100, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, 10,000, and every 1000 caches thereafter.

To pre-order or purchase merchandise for the event, click the below link to visit the West Oz Geocaching store. Merchandise will be loaded to the site December 4th 2023 and more to come in early 2024.

Important Information 

Merchandise is for sale until 18th August 2024

All Merchandise will be available for collection on Registration Day at WAGB. Orders not collected at WAGB or those not attending merchandise will be mailed out after WAGB.
